Dance4Life has schools projects in the following African countries:

Kenya
participated in the Dance4Life schools project, with about a couple of thousand young people involved!

Dance4Life wants to make sure that the Kenyan youth becomes HIV-free. Protection and awareness will make a future of HIV-free adults more realistic.

Nigeria has a lot planned for Dance4Life in 2007. They will be a Life Skills programme in the schools, and the 'Sing to Dance4Life' competition. This is open to young people, who can write and perform their own songs, and the best song will be voted for via sms. The money raised by this project will go towards local HIV and AIDS projects. There will also be new schools joining the Schools Projects, with an estimated 6,000 youth participating for the first time.

South Africa was an early adaptor of Dance4Life, along with Indonesia and The Netherlands. In 2004, Dance4Life South Africa was able to mobilise thousands of young people. In 2006 they were just as successful.

In 2007 the Schools Projects continue, with the Eastern Cape joining the KwaZulu Natal and the Western Cape. In total 35 schools will hopefully participate, each with eight to ten workshops per school.

Tanzania is working hard to build a huge Dance4Life movement! To ensure that the message is spread throughout the whole country, every person that learns about Dance4Life is asked to spread the word to at least five others. So far, it's working!

From March 2007 onwards, the Life Skills Programme will be up and running in 27 schools and youth groups, and another thirteen new schools are going to join the Schools Projects, with an estimated 2,600 young people getting involved. There are also going to be school information packs made and handed out. So 2007 will be a busy year for Dance4Life Tanzania!
