Dance4Life has several countries already started or starting up in Europe. They include Germany, Ireland, The Netherlands, Russia, Serbia, Turkey and the United Kingdom!

Germany was the second European country to join Dance4Life, with Bremen being the first German city to adopt the Dance4Life project.

In 2007 the Life Skills programme is planned to go to other German cities such as Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne and Hannover. In total it is hoped that 50 schools will become involved!

Ireland has joined Dance4Life! The pilot project introduced the concept to the country in 2006 by working with schools and youth groups in Dublin and Cork, with 500 youth participating.

It is hoped that a Life Skills programme will be developed and taken to the schools that participated in 2006, and that more schools will be involved in the Schools Projects in 2007.

The Netherlands, together with South Africa and Indonesia, officially launched Dance4Life in the spring of 2004.

A staggering 45,000 children at 50 schools participated in the 2006 Dance4Life Schools Project in the Netherlands. They were joined by teachers, artists, companies and many volunteers who all want to be part of Dance4Life!

Russia will be continuing its schools project in 2007, with a new city - Samara - joining Dance4Life Russia! Russia ran the Schools Project in twelve different regions in 2006. Looking at the size of the country, you can imagine the load of work that has to be done!

Serbia and Turkey are both planning on starting the Schools Project in 2008 - more news to follow!

The United Kingdom is on its second year as part of Dance4Life. In 2007 there are going to be Life Skills programmes in the schools covering the topics: HIV and Poverty, Access to Treatment, and Acting as agents of change. And of course lots of planning for 2008 to include more schools in the Schools Project and to have a huge Event at the end of 2008!
